The fall/winter 2009/2010 collection from Chanel is now available in Chanel boutiques. Channeling the winter months, Chanel brings in heavy materials, tweed, and a splash of color with the perfect green and pink.

The leather shoulder strap on the green and pink tweed bags is a departure from the classic chain strap, yet I find myself wanting to see the tweed bag with a chain strap rather than smooth leather strap (like the last photo below). My pick for Fall/Winter is the Chanel Extra Large Tweed Flap with the chain shoulder strap. The tweed is reminiscent of Chanel classic suits as is the quilted finish and chain strap. There is also the classical flap with interlaced ribbons which continues to bring dimension to the bag while offering a horizontal pattern rather than the expected diagonal. To view the collection visit Chanel online.

The combination of simple shape and intricate material, plus a few Lanvin-signature extra, have me absolutely salivating for this bag.
Diane von Furstenberg wants to give PurseBlog readers a sneak peak at her small leather goods for Resort 2010. This collection is named “Her Name is Rio” and will hit stores this November. The collection has four styles: Estella Long Wallet (pictured in White Leather), Estella Coin Purse, Estella Card Wallet, and Estella Makeup Bag (pictured in Violet Sea Leather). Color available will be black, white, and violet sea. Prices will range from $65 for the card wallet to $195 for the long wallet.
Diane von Furstenberg has solidified herself as a designer, becoming widely popular for her wrap dresses and clothing line. But DvF continues to excite us with her success in the handbag world. This past Spring the handbag world was a buzz with the unique DvF Stephanie Hobo, which I am still head over heels for. Now I find myself checking out all of the handbags that DvF has to offer and loving her more and more as an accessory designer.

And the other Housewives had other things to deal with. Nene has a deadbeat son, Kim has the desire to own a wig line (which I find problematic in and of itself), and Sheree had a rage blackout and missed Lisa’s entire show. And Kandi? Well Kandi still has That Triflin’ Fiance and Kim’s friendship, so that’s bound to not work out particularly well for her.

True confession: I stopped watching Real Housewives of Atlanta halfway through last night in order to watch college football. But I feel like that was okay, since the particular game that I was watching took place in Atlanta. A Housewife could have been there! Although, let’s be honest, none of these women seem like they have any blood relatives that are smart enough to get into Georgia Tech. I watched the game anyway.

I have no idea how anyone in NYC right now can decide where to make their stops for Fashion’s Night Out. One of the stops I would have liked to take was DKNY. First off, there will be DKNY Limited Edition Fall 2009 ‘Save the Runway’ Tote Bags in honor of Fashion’s Night Out and DKNY’s 20 year anniversary. These are limited edition and one-of-a-kind, 20 will be sold at the Madison Avenue store and 20 will be sold at the SoHo location. Materials on these bags will come entirely from DKNY’s Fall 2009 runway. Bag will be sold for $35 and proceeds benefit the National September 11th Memorial & Museum.
What a better way to complement your Burberry trench than with a pair of sleek Burberry rain boots? I have a couple pair of Hunter wellie rain boots, the originals made in Scotland. I wear them with skinny jeans and leggings with sweater during the rainy season. I often wish my Hunter wellies were a little more sophisticated and polished. That’s why I love these Burberry rainboots. Each of these three styles is waterproof and great for sloshing thru puddles, yet chic enough to wear with my black Burberry trench.
Alber Elbaz, all is forgiven. I’ve groused and complained and wrinkled my nose at my fair share of Lanvin bags lately, but the Lanvin Amalia Python Shoulder Bag is good enough to absolve the brand of all their Chanel-aping sins.

But through the magic of OnDemand and my cable box, we have a recap anyway! And how appropriate of Bravo: as Fashion Week opens in New York City, we get a fashion show of our own. She by Sheree? No! It’s Lisa’s line, Closet Freak, which apparently got thrown together so quickly that it’ll make a Project Runway designer’s head spin.
